The Story Of Chiron The Noble Centaur
Sagittarius has always been a sign to seek truth and Independence. The centaur was a great teacher of medicine, music, and prophecy. Chiron according to legend was unlike the other brutal centours. Chiron taught Jason and Achilles, he was a great teacher to many great heroes including Hercules. Chiron the son of Kronos the Titan god was the most important Centaur in Greek mythology. Chiron was the smartest and most civilized Centaur. Most Centaur’s had bad habits and indulged in their lower selves like drinking and participating in lustful relations. Chiron was more balanced and respectable amongst the Gods. He had superior knowledge, and he had a different lineage to the other Centaurs. In Greek mythology some of his famous students include famous heroes and gods, such as Asclepius, Ajax, Achilles, Theseus, Jason , Peleus, Perseus, and even Heracles and Phoenix. Chiron was placed in the constellation and the Mount Olympus patheon for his noble act of sacrificing his immortality to free Prometheus. Chiron during dinner with Hercules was shot with one of his poisonous arrows by accident, while trying to fight other centaurs who were coming too attack because they had smelled wine at their dinner. The pain from the arrow was too unbearable for Chiron to heal and because he was immortal he could not die. So, he happily gave up his immortality in exchange for Prometheus’ freedom.
